Development and Coaching


Under the Criminal Records Review Act, all people who work with or may possibly have unsupervised access to vulnerable adults or children are required to undergo a criminal record check by the CRRP (Criminal Records Review Program) This includes all team staff: coaches, managers and Safety Trainers BC Hockey Coach & Bench Staff Certification Requirements (updated Oct 21, 2021)

Criminal Record Checks can be done online for free HERE with the following code:  

All team staff must also complete the Respect In Sport program online HERE   (to be completed every 5 years)

Recreational Teams Requirments
U6, U7, U8, U9 Minimum initiation Coach 1 or Coach 2 
U11 Coach 2 - Head Coaches must also have Checking Skills.
U13 Coach 2 - Head Coaches must also have Checking Skills.
U15 Coach 2 - Head Coaches must also have Checking Skills. 
U18 Coach 2 - Head Coaches must also have Checking Skills
   
Competitive Teams  
U11 Development Hybrid or Coach Stream, Respect in Sports
U13 Development 1, Head Coaches must also have Checking Skills and MED 
U15 Development 1, Head Coaches must also have Checking Skills and MED 
U18 Development 1, Head Coaches must also have Checking Skills and MED
